Women Rights In India

Women rights have been on a global watch by many civil society organizations. However, in many countries, there has been a violation of their rights be it Muslim, Hindu, Sikh or Christian women. Most men perceive them as not people worth the same social or economic standing. This is a relation to the past and in present day situations. Some people think they should not be treated equally.

In most companies, men are paid much more than their female colleagues at work. This is happening in the same job position or title. Women rights in India seem not to be respected. A society without respect for women is a doomed one since they play a major role. They should be treated with utmost dignity and respect. In ancient India, women were perceived to be leaders in their own homes apart from being torchbearers.

In the present day, their roles seem to have diminished and they have been reduced to raising kids and doing house chores. The most important roles are held by men thereby discouraging them from achieving their dreams. Civil society groups and non-governmental organizations have created awareness campaigns on women. The society has changed its mind set thereby giving the girl child to thrive socially and economically. Hope has been restored to many women in India and they are looking up to leaders like Prime Minister Theresa May who leads the United Kingdom.
